Course Memo
This course explores the relationship between religion, philosophy, and aesthetics. Topics may include the nature of beauty, the problem of representation in religious contexts, the role of artistic expression in religious identity formation, early Christian art, iconoclast and iconophile theology, and ancient through contemporary philosophers, religious theorists, and aestheticians. Offered in alternate years.
