Course Memo

Prerequisite: Senior Standing. The purpose of this senior seminar is to help students assess what they have learned as undergraduate students and translate that learning into their behavior in the world. The course also acts as a bridge to life-long learning. Classes are conducted in a discussion format and address a broad range of ethical questions on which individual courses will focus. Course Section Description

Social Agility: The purpose of this senior seminar is to help students assess what they have learned as undergraduate students and translate that learning into their behavior in the world. The course also acts as a bridge to life-long learning. Classes are conducted in both a discussion and hands on application format. This specific course is focused on the art and science of communication and how that communication provides influence to others. Identifying, analyzing, and ultimately manipulating variables that influence human performance. How to create buy in, how to use manipulation in an ethical way, how our drives influence our communication style, and more. Utilizing positions of influence to get others to move towards a common goal in a complex environment that can only be mastered through experience. Students will gain this experience through studying the literature and practically applying the strategies in this class.
